Redlands College recognised as an eSmart School: further details.

The College’s recent success in being recognised as an eSmart School was achieved through the dedication and hard work of the members of the eSafety committee.

To achieve the status as an eSmart School we had to pass an external audit with The Alannah and Madeline Foundation and demonstrate the following six domains of the eSmart framework.

Families Online eSafety Courses

Redlands College is pleased to announce that our community now has access to government certified online eSafety courses. Internet Safe Training was founded by Brett Lee, who gave presentations on eSafety at Redlands College yesterday.
 
These courses will give you everything you need to make great decisions, which will help your family create an environment where technology is a tool used for safe fun, connection and education.
 

eSafety Presentation to Students, Parents and staff

On Tuesday the 28/02/2017 Brett Lee, founder of Internet Safe Education, ran student (Years 7 to 12), staff and parent presentations looking at cybersafety and online rights and responsibilities.

Parent Presentation: Hands on Coding and Programming session

On Monday morning, the 23 of May,  Mr Dale Lopez demonstrated some resources used to teach Coding in Junior School.  Parents were invited to come along and try Coding for themselves.

Parents experienced coding and programming using Beebots, Makey Makey, Sphero SPRK and the Kibo Robot. The following links are free iPad apps that teach coding in a fun and engaging way.
