Year 2V collaborative ebook showcase

On Monday 11/11/2013, students in  Mrs Vaughan's Year 2 class shared with parents their collaborative eBook. The ebook detailed their excursion to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and was created using the Book Creator app on their iPads. Students worked separately on text and illustrations on their iPads, then Mrs Vaughan collated their work, along with photographs, into a single book.The Book was then published in iBooks so all students could download and read on their iPads. Following is a video of the ebook for parents that were unable to make the Monday morning showcase. 

I want to post a video or photo online presentation

During Term 4 of 2013 Middle and Senior School students have attended a presentation focused on steps students need to take before posting a photo or video online. The following flowchart poster has been created and placed in classrooms as a visual reminder to think before posting online. 

Rapid Download Professional Learning Session: Term 3, 2013

We ran our fifth Rapid Download session on Tuesday 27th of August, 2013 with a focus on collaboration, being creative, problem solving and thinking critically. An incredible afternoon of fun, food, sharing and learning took place.

Faith Ty Year 10 finalist in the Triple J Unearthed High Competition

Congratulations to Faith Ty (10B) on being one of the 6 finalists in the Triple J Unearthed High competition. Faith who is known by the alias of ‘Cypher’ was up against over 900 other Australian High School students. Her song ‘Liar’ has had great success, being played on not only the Unearthed radio station but also the main Triple J station numerous times. You can listen/rate and review her track at

MYSA Conference: 16 Year 7 Integrated Learning students participated in a Virtual classroom

On Friday 25/5/2013, 16 Year 7 students from Mr Ayling's Integrated Learning class were invited to participate in a virtual classroom at this year's Middle Years Schooling Association (MYSA) Conference on the Gold Coast. Students had the exciting opportunity to share their learning and project work with teachers and principals from around the world.

Middle School Cyber Safety Presentation

On Friday the 3/5/2013 Brett Lee, founder of INESS, spoke to Middle School students discussing cybersafety and our online rights and responsibilities.

GOOD ONLINE CHOICES = GREAT ONLINE EXPERIENCES was the focus of Brett's message. The presentations were tailored, age appropriate 1hour sessions, simplifying what’s needed for children to protect themselves online.
